Basingstoke tonight
Anyone going? Having not been able to make it to North Ferriby and finding myself working not too far away from Basingstoke, I was thinking of going. Another hard task, but it will be interesting to see how the team rebound from Saturday. Will some players get rested given the frequency of games ahead?

I'd certainly expect the 5 subs from Saturday to start. See you later...

Yes, I'll be going along straight from work. Looking forward to feeling absolutely relaxed about a game. Hopefully not a repeat performance of that shambles against them back in August.

Big test of resilience, and so will Hemel on Saturday.

Stearn and Kington start for Chas and McCootie in an otherwise unchanged line up from Saturday somewhat surprisingly.

3-1 Pratt then we concede again almost straightway

Re: Basingstoke tonight
Played ok. Knocked the ball around well but it was a bit pedestrian and predictable at times. Conceded some silly goals, for the third everyone just backed off and gave him an invitation to score. I'm guessing Jason was completely unsighted for the second.
Good to see Watkins back on the scoresheet, and first Pratt has scored from open play in the league for a bit, I think. Kington had a blinder in the first half but faded a bit in the second.
Oh well, managed to buy my niece and nephew a present before the game in Toys R Us, found some half-price permanent markers in Staples and the service in Pizza Hut was incredibly quick. Not a wasted evening. And I was home earlier than I was from North Ferriby.

Re: Basingstoke tonight
How many more matches is Diallo suspended for ? I only saw him play the once - at Gosport where i thought he was our best player that day. I wonder if he would have made a difference if he had been available for the games against North Ferriby ?

Which games covered his 3 match ban?

Diallo had a five match ban which brilliantly also included the SPC game.
Talking of suspensions, Pratt picked up a booking last night so think he's now due a two game ban?

Thought that was only if it happened by the end of February?

FA site say not.
So, in which match, in theory, could he have played in? He will not have appeared in 6 games.

The cut off date for 10 bookings is in April.

Re Diallo, he didn't play against North Ferriby, Paulton, North Ferriby, Basingstoke and won't at Hemel. Which to me makes him available for next Tuesday.
Unless they rightly don't count the SPC as a competitive game.

Re: Basingstoke tonight
I met up with a friend last night who only watches us at Basingstoke, as he lives in nearby Alton. Compared to the dreary game last season, he was very impressed with the quality of our football last night - if only we had produced something similar on Saturday. However, their 2nd and 3rd goals should have been prevented - I thought Jason was in his erratic mode last night. I guess the strong wind didn't help - it was a bitterly cold night.
Afraid my early lift back to the station meant I missed our late goal.

And our late chance that should have brought the equaliser.
A game we really shouldn't have lost.

Attendance 466?!?! Do these Hampshire clubs have dodgy turnstiles or something? This happened at Gosport the other week and at Eastleigh every time we played them. I cannot believe that the attendance was similar to some of ours this season. There were about eight people in the main stand.

Re: Basingstoke tonight
I thought it was an entertaining game despite the cold - a good advert for Conference South football. Their third goal immediately after we scored dented our chances of a comeback, although the lads kept plugging away resulting in the last gasp second goal. First time I've been to Basingstoke and it seems like a nice friendly club. There couldn't have been more than 250 there I thought, so not sure where 466 came from, unless they were all in the club house sheltering from the cold.

Re: Basingstoke tonight
Out of 5 games in Conf Prem last night, only one attendance into 4 figures. Time to cut down the size of leagues and hence the number of poorly attended midweek games which are a bad advert for non-league.

Not according to the FA site.
