I hope we are up for it today.
So our annual entry into the Trophy has arrived with today's game at Glos. As one of the fans who watched in disbelief as East Thurrock inflicted one of the most embarrassing defeats in the club's history, I think we are owed a good performance today, whoever was to blame for that fiasco. Let's hope Glos have been watched and we are well prepared, with no lack of urgency in the opening to each half. Frankly our record in this competition is pathetic, with our last 2 games (feeble exits at Chesham and Dover) a fair reflection of what has gone on since 1969!
Imagine what a run to Wembley could do for our club. Gosport managed it last season and we finished 11 points ahead of them in the league.
Let's go for it!

Yes a real feeling of last chance saloon for the season.
I hope we put in a performance.
I think the odds are on a dour draw!
See you there!

If people think it's all doom and gloom on here, try reading their forum thread on the Stalybridge defeat on Tuesday, their 3rd in a row. Although it's risky comparing teams in different leagues, they are struggling one place off the bottom of theirs and have conceded over 2 a game. Let's keep it tight at the back but look to win it first time!

I remember that Chesham game well.
We, according to what a fit Charlie told me, chose to omit our best striker and include a half fit loanee Nichols.
The playing surface ought to be very much to our liking so I would be tempted to play Ross from the start, cup games are there to win.

Full time 0-0, more bookings and not a lot else happening according to the radio. Dave and co sounded great on the radio!
See you all Tuesday! New insider out now too!

Just back and what a dour game. I predicted it and it came to pass. Very few chances with a Pratty effort near the Endthe only one of note. We had more possession and with artus back on Tuesday we will
Be confident. Gloucester were abysmal though they cane more into it in the second half.
Good to go back to Cheltenham after 21 years and the Kemble was great,

Awful game. Two poor sides so I suppose 0 -0 was a fair result. Not much else you can say!

Carbon copies of our last 2 performances in this competition, but fortunately Glos were no better. Really expect us to lift the tempo from the start on Tuesday...

I think an opponent could commit a murder against us and he'd only get booked.

That's all I have time to say, I have a programme to complete. Thanks to Neil's excellent site it has helped with a load of us and Gloucester links.

Totally agree! But it shows what an awful season you must be suffering if fans on your forum were satisfied with your performance and enjoyed the game. I'd like to say that you will see a different Bath City on Tuesday, but I doubt it!

Where were all the old faces? Obviously no Bellend, does the Bear still go? I didn't see any beards.

Bear hasn't been to a game for ages. He stayed away as things got worse and worse under the previous regime and got out of the habit of watching.

There are people like this all around. I wonder what they do on a Saturday afternoon instead.

I know it looks bad in real time and the ref wasn't going to give it until your players complained but if you slow it down further, your player was studs up first as was Chris Allen so Walshy arriving a fraction later probably thought about self preservation first. I think that was probably the only decision the officials got right all day, clumsy but not malicious.

Re: I hope we are up for it today.
a couple of nice posts on the glos forum...
Fair play to the Bath City fans they supported their team well, spent a reasonable amount of money across the club shop, cash draw, programmes, golden goal and commended the club shop stock and the initiatives we've put in place. They can come back again!
and...
I shall not forget how, when the fixture that we should have played with Bath at Meadow Park in pre-season 2007 was reversed owing to the floods, their supporters presented the Trust with a generous donation on the match day. Bath City also provided the programme, helpfully relieving us of a responsibility at a time when our club was pre-occupied with other issues (!) Of course, not long before that our chairman had been more than kind with a personal gift to them when Bath were struggling to stay in business. It's not been a bad model for a relationship between two non-league clubs.

Re: I hope we are up for it today.
I've sort of written a bit about that in tomorrow's programme, which I hope sells well after the hassle I had putting it together in one evening/early morning!
I also noticed that some of the numbers on our shirts are fading again. This is quite embarrassing (looks so tacky) and tricky for people in positions like myself/radio lot.

The incentives are massive, players will not need any motivation.
Both teams have an ideal draw in the next round...another local derby.

Hey, whilst it is not the massive effort the Bear sported I think my effort ensures the club's quota of beardy supporters is maintained.

While on the subject of beards, could one of you please let me know the club policy on second half arrivals at the gate.
My family are having a get together early tomorrow evening at my mothers care home to celebrate her birthday.
Therefore my brother and I will not make it to Twerton until the second half.
I do not want any problems with our stewards or any further delays in getting in.
What will I pay ?, who do I pay? and so on.
I did invite Manda, but she declined.
