Terrific gate, disappointing performance.
We were the better team for 10 minutes and then the wheels came off. Scored against the run of play and were second best from then on.
The Bromley type fight back just never happened. Will need to improve substantially on Thursday.

Gutless performance. No fight, lack of ideas. Manager has no zero second plan.

What a disappointment especially after the Bromley match. Hard to believe that was Chippenham’s first away win as they looked really dangerous going forward and each of their goals was a gem. Let’s hope the real City turn up at Hardenhuish.

Forgot to mention the great reception given to Alex Fletcher before the match - his recovery is far more important than any result. I thought the Club organised things very well.

Agreed!
It is a shame that City under-perform against teams of lower leagues and teams lower in our league.
We should NOT expect/hope for any easy games.

Next 4 games key to the season for me.
Need to start picking up points or it’s a continued slide down the table. Plus a Cup run will help morale.
But whilst we are surely a better team than last year it’s not good enough especially at home.

We have lost our two main scorers and this has exposed that we do not have goals in the rest of the team. We are toothless at present.

Re: City 1 Chip 3
We certainly should not expect any easy games at home, Colin. Our last nine league and cup games at Twerton have seen 1 win, 3 draws and 5 defeats. Only Bromley and Chelmsford of those opponents are higher than us.
Despite the manager’s stated dislike of them, we seem to perform better on artificial pitches - away to Eastbourne, Oxford, Havant, Tonbridge and Billericay saw us unbeaten with 14 goals scored.
It was interesting to see mention by the commercial director in the Bromley programme of plans for a 3G pitch at TP after a long silence from the Club on this subject...
Our plans for a 3G pitch are being dusted off and separated from the long-running process of seeking to redevelop the Twerton Park site. There is no doubt that a 3G pitch will significantly improve the finances of the Club, as they have done for Havant & Waterlooville, Tonbridge Angels and Hemel Hempstead. We would all love to continue to play on natural grass, but I urge all supporters to embrace 3G as a key factor in the sustainability of our club.

Plan A / B either way I feel we try for a style / tactic the calibre of players we can afford cannot maintain consistently. Many of our opposition keep things a lot simpler and sit in waiting for Bath to make a mistake.
I’m guessing our training videos are the last Liverpool game.

Guess who is not a Liverpool supporter! One guess.

Didn't we beat Bromley t'other night with a formation change at half-time?

And 2 gifted goals without which I doubt we would have ever scored.

Re: City 1 Chip 3
The loss of 2 of the most potent strikers in the league would be a helluva blow for any team, clearly JG is trying to work a fix with loans, there aren't many available decent strikers around even if we could afford one. But:
it has unmasked our impotent midfield goalscoring contributions; and
the defence continues to leak goals, Dartford apart, so we can't rely on clean sheets to dig out points.

Then JG should have started the Chipp game with the formation and line up that ended that game.
