Well done, Bob!
I haven’t seen it mentioned elsewhere but tucked away in today’s programme was confirmation that Bob Chester will be stepping down from his role as commercial manager at the end of the season.
Bob has worked endless hours for many years, bringing in hundreds of thousands of pounds for our Club.
I’m sure forum members will join me in thanking Bob for all his efforts!

Will be a great loss.
It's not only his fund raising efforts but his work on matchdays - Walking round the ground to persuade a few more victims/supporters to buy a program and then in the bar doing his chat-show interviews.

Bob is up there with the best in all the effort he has put in.
Always replies and looks to help any requests from us supporters no matter what they are.
He has big boots for someone to fill.

Always appears tireless, polite and unflappable. The effort he puts in at the club is amazing and he never seems to lose motivation. Deserves all the respect and plaudits coming to him.
I assume he can only be replaced by three people at least!

Re: Well done, Bob!
So sorry to hear about Bob giving up this position. He has worked so hard for so long and always pleasant and cheerful. He deserves all the praise that he gets. It will be hard to find someone to replace him . . . . . or as someone has already said . . . . it would probably take two or three people.
Thank you, Bob.
Thank you, Bob.

Re: Well done, Bob!
I have known Bob for many years and his contribution the club, along with that of Paul Williams, has been immense. It is no exaggeration to say that he has raised millions of pounds for the club and he has done this all on a voluntary basis. He will be virtually impossible to replace.
Thanks Bob, you are a great guy.

Yea many people have already said it and glad Steve has recognised Paul for his contributions too.
Bob will still be on radio thankfully so I can still annoy him for a while longer.

Yes, sterling work by Bob over the years, and always with a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed.

Echo all the comments, tireless, always seems to go the extra mile and always a smile and a thank you when he effortlessly gets you to part with more money ! Challenge for the club is to understand how he worked his magic and make sure that, somehow, they sustain and build on his great work.

Re: Well done, Bob!
For me, Bob has been the greatest asset of Bath City for many years now. The money he has raised for the club in a voluntary capacity is staggering. He has worked tirelessly on commercial matters and is always available to talk and assist in many ways. It is time he settled down into watching matches instead of working his socks off every twerton matchday. I personally think that I would not be enjoying watching Bath City in NLS if it had not been for Bob's efforts.

I heartily agree with all the sentiments expressed in this thread. Bob's energy never ceased to amaze me. He also had the gift of making you feel that any input or contribution you may have made was valued by the club.He will be a hard act to follow.

Re: Well done, Bob!
Sorry to hear Bob is hanging up his tie, as his work was immense. Particularly when you consider that he was hard at it for years - including when the club had a really small number of volunteers (a lot less than now). Would be brilliant if the club could find a way to have a full-time replacement for his role, but probably not enough income yet to enable that.
I hope the club does something nice for Bob to recognise his efforts. A presentation at the very least. A lap of honour around the pitch at a game would be fitting too, but it's probably not the sort of thing Bob would want (unless he could sell a few programmes whilst doing so )

It is possible that Bob has single handedly saved Bath City. I think that the least the board should do is to present him with a lifetime season ticket.

Could be worse. Could give him a Bath Rugby seaosn ticket. And in the uncovered section, to add injury to insult.
