Well it is a point of view but totally ignores the fact that to many people emojis are simply irritating.
Literacy is quite evidently poorer but this isn't merely because of emojis. There was a debate on the BBC HYS the other day about the use of 'should of'. An english teacher waded in and said the correct form is should've and not should have.
