Re: The Next 6 Months?
I think the chance of fans returning to matches sometime soon is even less than that of the NL clubs receiving an equal share of the money.

Re: The Next 6 Months?
A post from a Dulwich fan on the NLS forum which sums up the absurdity of the present situation...
Well, there was a match at Dulwich today with almost 600 spectators in attendance. Our FA Women's Cup tie against Leyton Orient (won 1-0 by the visitors) pulled a crowd of 582, a ground record for a women's game. The contrast with yesterday's National South defeat behind closed doors was stark, despite another defeat for the Hamlet. It made all the difference having a crowd in and just makes it seem even more senseless that we can't admit a similar number of people for the men's games at the same venue.

Re: The Next 6 Months?
A quick calculation based on average gates of the 66 clubs from last season shows that City's share would be just over £100k.
NB: This is a "back of a fag packet" calculation with no allowance made for promotion / relegation.
The methology should be:
1. Add up ALL last season's average gates of the 66 clubs currently in the NL
2. Use City's last season average of 1081 divided by the total averages and muliply by £10 million.
It would be interesting to know what system is used by the League authorities.

The back of a fag packet seems about right! Where is Denis Strudwick when you need him?

Re: The Next 6 Months?
As you concede it is bound to be more complicated than that. I seem to recall the mention of club's financial loss compared to what they would have expected from a game. So they may take into account monies that clubs have enjoyed from streaming games.

How the National League funding will be divided:
7 National League clubs will receive 95k a month.
The 16 other clubs get £84k a month.
5 National North/South clubs will receive 36k a month.
The 37 other clubs get 30k a month.
Clubs will receive payment next week.
Total makes £3,299,000

I saw a tweet from Hereford saying that they are getting £36k. Will be interesting to see who the other clubs getting that amount are.

I’d guess Dulwich and Maidstone in our division and the other three in the North.LB wrote:I saw a tweet from Hereford saying that they are getting £36k. Will be interesting to see who the other clubs getting that amount are.

As always, Ollie Bayliss from the BBC is on it:
Chesterfield, Hartlepool, Notts County, Stockport, Torquay, Wrexham & Yeovil will receive the £95k.
Chester, Dulwich Hamlet, Hereford, Maidstone & York will receive the £36k.

Weymouth have really hit the jackpot - £84k a month when their crowds are similar to ours. They should turn in a big profit this season.

Their player budget must have gone up though.

Well, Mr Casey, will you be calling on the NLS and NLN clubs to support a vote of no confidence in the NL Board? Simply complaining on your website blog will not change a thing.

Re: The Next 6 Months?
The distribution does seem to make a bit of a mockery of the clubs being asked to provide financial breakdowns/projections whatever, but after the way the £200k from the PL to help with the playoffs was divided up why should anybody be surprised.

Re: The Next 6 Months?
Rob,
Forgive me for being pedantic, but is there a Club that will be getting nothing from this share-out of money, because, looking at your figures, there are only 65 Clubs overall?
For what it is worth - my opinion is that although we should be grateful for any money at all, surely it would have not taken long to work out a fairer distribution of 'the cake' - Excel spreadsheet anyone? It simply does not seem fair to be getting no more than the likes of Hungerford or Concorde, whose home gates are only about a third of ours.

The National Leagues have only 65 members this season because of Bury’s demise - only one team came down from League 2.Midsomer-steve wrote:Rob,

As I'm no longer a Board member I don't know. But I'd hope they'd agree with what the chap at York said...
During this time of economic uncertainty, we recognise that we are lucky to receive funding and are incredibly grateful.

Re: The Next 6 Months?
In reality a fairer method would have been to have given every club an initial base figure of £150K (£10m divided by 65).
Then made an adjustment based on how much each clubs' average gate varies from the overall average gate. On a simple basis it would mean 32 clubs would receive more than the base £150k and 32 less but in reality it would be necessary to include additional weighting adjustment.
As far as we are concerned a more equable attendance basis would probably give us more than the current £36k per month but it could also be argued that our attendance average is inflated to some extent by the various cheap day promotions etc.

I agree partly with your scheme but there would still be an issue with the "adjustments".
As every club had to give details of its finances to the league the information was available to allocate funds on the basis of what each club was losing due to no spectators.
City are receiving £30k but it ought to be more.

Well Nick Blofeld appears to disagree with you according to today’s Newsletter. And well done to the Club on its announcement re season ticket holders.

Re: The Next 6 Months?
Well someone has done the calculation and it seems Notts County should have received £90k more per month - Ourselves should have been £8.3k more per month so £25K for the 3 months.
Chippenham would be £7.9k less per month and Concord £14.4k less each month.
