I remember something like "The Border Counties Floodlit League" from around that time, a midweek thing that our reserve teams (remember those?) usually got to play in. We had teams from places like Oswestry coming down to play us.

I spent the summer trying to work out season records which included loads of different competitions (and loads of help from LB). There were definitely floodlit games. Some of the competitions were abandoned.

Yes, sir!
We played in 3 leagues that season... Southern, Border Counties, Western Counties
And 6 cups.... FAC, FAT, Southern League, Somerset, WCFL, BCFL
It must have been a nightmare for the club secretary. From 24 February 1975 until the end of that season there were SEVEN evenings when we had to field two teams to play at the same time! And on a couple of those they were both away fixtures. Weymouth in the WCFL and Kidderminster in the BCFL must have run up quite a coach bill. No wonder Colin Tavener made 78 appearances!
