I thought we controlled the game after we scored without actually threatening to put it to bed and hence were always open to the equaliser. Concord were a decent side and weren't going to give up so we really neaded that second goal. But we weren't really at our best. Obviously the weather played a big part.

Yes, I said at the start of the game that it was going to be a game of mistakes and stupid goals due to the horrendous weather and that is exactly it was.

Brunt hasn't started for 3 league games and hasn't scored for over a month and Mann has gone a bit quiet as well scoring-wise. We could do with them both getting into some scoring form going into the Christmas period.

I don’t think the two are unconnected. We seem to be going for this style which is becoming fashionable not to play a ‘central’ striker as such but with Mann playing furthest forward. I think we looked more likely to score (and did) when we had Brunt playing the centre forward role which he does well and Mann running in from behind. I don’t think the role he is being asked to play at the moment suits Mann and probably explains why he isn’t the player he was in the first few months of the season.

Personally I prefered the shape of the team before Smith arrived. 

Concorde seemed ideal opponents for Brunt to start against too.
