Not much sympathy for him. Walked out on us twice, trust he never gets the chance to make to make it a hat trick.

seems to have been a lack of goals that done it. He hasn't got a great track record on signing strikers. He started us with four last season that left a lot to be desired, he got relegated and still struggles for goals. Maybe he needs to rethink his approach.

Football management employment is a funny thing. So few managers part company with their employers in the close season. Most are unceremoniously removed part way through so it is no wonder they feel little need to see out their contract.
I thought Owers steadied the ship after a disastrous tenure by the deadly duo but I wouldn't swap him for Jerry Gill.

That promotion and cup run under Adie, highest placed part-time team a year later, a reasonable enough 7th spot under Arch and a penalty shoot-out from Wembley.
It ended at the right time and I thought Owers did a good job, but disaster by those before him? Get real. There were some lows, sure, but plenty of highs.

Well said, Junior. That cup win at Grimsby wasn't a bad day out!
Both gave their all for the club and were helpful and supportive in the Bid process. And don't forget the assistance which Adie gave to Jim after Owers departed and before Jerry's appointment. I certainly appreciated their time at the club.

Sorry didn't mean to be disrespectful. I appreciate how much effort they put in and the early years were refreshing but I felt they clung on for far too long. There were times under Archie that I seriously considered not going to any more games it was that dire. Terrible football and it was no wonder gates were rock bottom.
