Quiz question
Ross Stearn made his 100th appearance for the club on Tuesday, but not all in the league.
Sixteen players have made 100 appearances for the club in National League South. See how many you can name...

Re: Quiz question
He might have made 100 appearances but how many minutes? He was regularly brought on for five minutes. In fact I remember he came on for one game when there was one kick of the ball before the game finished.

Re: Quiz question
I'm hopeless with these sorts of questions, Statman, so here's one for you! Has there ever been a day before when the bottom team in a division wins by 4 goals and the top team loses by the same margin?

Re: Quiz question
Of the current players I would guess:
Dan Ball
Andy Watkins
Frankie Artus
Then
Lewis Hogg
Andy Gallinagh
Sekani Simpson
Adam Connolly
Matt Coupe
Gethin Jones
Jimmer
Dutch
Darren Edwards
Now I'm struggling. I bet I've missed someone really obvious.

Re: Quiz question
13 mentioned so far. Adie Harris is incorrect, probably over 100 appearances but not all in NL South.
Those missing made 119, 107 and 106 appearances.

Re: Quiz question
For the record, McCootie is 8th in the list, but only made 87 starts. 32 extra appearances were from the bench, more than any other of the top 16.
Chris Holland (115) and Jason Mellor (106) are the only players who made all their appearances as starts, none as substitutes.
Other near misses for centuries were Dan Bowman and Chris Allen.

Re: Quiz question
Good stuff.
I bet Dutch took his shirt off at the end of the match more times than any of the others.

Re: Quiz question
Did Chris Holland score more goals than Nick Mcootie?
With regard to the question of top and bottom results I do recall (as a youngster) in our 59/60
championship season that we lost 5-1 at home to Wellington. We were top and I believed Wellington
may have been bottom. The book shows the date as Feb 20 th 1960 and that Wellington finished 15th. But having hammered us they may have gone on a run over last 1/3 rd of season to finish 9 points ahead of side that finishrd bottom.

Re: Quiz question
Thank you, Peter. Yes, I'm sure there have been fairly frequent occasions when the bottom club has defeated the top one. Of course I meant where the two clubs were playing in separate matches. This question seems to have stumped Statman...

Re: Quiz question
I have more chance of resolving the long list of issues with the BCIR laptop than finding the answer to that.
But I know the answer to Peter's question: Nick McCootie 33-36 Chris Holland.
