City v.Hemel
No sign of team line ups yet which might indicate that Hemel stuck in traffic.

Re: City v.Hemel
Ended with a bit of a flourish but we gave them too much space second half and invited pressure. I would have liked to see Lucas on earlier he is so much more of a nuissance than Jarvis who quite simply does not hold the ball up. Nick is not back to his best but he really put himself about.
Hemel look a big strong side that might struggle this season unless they start playing some football. But they may scrap to a few points.

The spine played well. South wood, Batten and Artus superb.
Compton displayed some amazing skill on the left.
Comfortable in the end but it was in doubt for a large part of the second half when they pressed.

Re: City v.Hemel
Yes, the scoreline flattered us a little but it was good to keep another clean sheet and the first and third goals made up for most of the rest of the match!
A mention for the Hemel fans - obviously disappointed by the result but they were a good bunch in the bar afterwards and showed our visitors from last week that you can be boisterous but well behaved. Hopefully they'll travel in similar numbers for their league visit.

Agreed. They were magnanamous in defeat which is a pleasant change.

Yes, they seemed to really appreciate that we are a proper football club. Fair play to them and, hopefully, their trip home was easier than their trip here.

Yes agree with that. I shook a couple by the hand at the end. Wished them a good season

Re: City v.Hemel
A couple of talking points...
Near the hour mark, Ryan Case took someone out near the halfway line. Referee came racing across and I must admit I feared the worst. Instead of recent matches, he quickly checked with his assistant, and a yellow card was brandished. Correctly. Why didn't that happen at Hungerford and Wealdstone?
I was amazed when Lyburd and Obi were withdrawn for Hemel. Thought they were real threats and the two that came on were practically anonymous.
One goal conceded in five games. The defence and goalkeeper deserve a lot of credit.
