Tonight's games Empty Tonight's games

Post by LB Tue Mar 08, 2016 11:33 pm

I see that Hayes won at Whitehawk and Weston lost at St Albans. We go down one place but are still 3 points above Weston. The game on Easter Monday really will be a 6 pointer.

No problem. Sascha says we will end way up the table and that's good enough for me!

The home game to Bishops Stortford is looking critical to me, unless we gain some unlikely points over our next two games.

Five of Weston's remaining games are against teams in the bottom six, including two against Basingstoke in the space of a few days.

Fortunately they have five against sides in the play-off spots, too.

Yes I notice they have Sutton away next then Maidstone home and away and then Ebbsfleet. An 'evil' next 4 games for them.

I'm targeting Chelmsford and Hayes to go see, with 1 or 2 others pencilled in if support is needed as I fear it may. f we can garner the support we had at Oxford then it wont be for the lack of numbers that we fail.

Agreed.....I am on standby to do some more games especially away.

I don't really want another Worcester moment though!

never mind we were effectively relegated the next season after failing in the 'play off' against Dorchester.

I don't think that is likely. Oxford was almost the perfect storm for away support. A new ground we'd never played at, local (ish, only took an hour and a half on the train), cheap at £12 return, and appetising in terms of pubs/city. Looking at the remaining aways, I can see a reasonable crowd at Maidenhead (and possibly by extension H&Y) and that's about it really.

I can recommend a waterside pub near Canvey. The short cut through the water works and climbing over 2 very high metal fences is highly recommended!

Two seasons in fact - 2002/03 we finished 14th. 2003/04 is worryingly fairly similar to this season. Started pretty well, humiliatingly knocked out of FA Cup, knocked out of FA Trophy by lower league opponents, appointed Owers as manager, went through loads of players.

We finished 16th then. I'd settle for the same now, in all honesty. Rather it didn't go to us needing something against Margate though.

comrade powell Today at 5:57 pmEveryone should go to those two grounds once in their lives.

I have, and if I ever find myself at Concord again it will be because we are about to win the league. Awful, awful place.

Your biting one liners are really wasted on this humble forum, Colin. If you don't like my posts, why not simply ignore them? Very strange....
