Matt Coupe retires from playing
Just want to say a huge thank you to Matt for all his efforts for us over the years. Must say I wasn't too impressed to hear that he was rejoining us back in August, but I think he has been magnificent whenever called upon this season. When heads were dropping after conceding yet another sloppy goal, he was the one voice encouraging everyone and when we went ahead he was forever bawling out to keep the concentration. A great example to the younger players!

Won't forget the goal of all goals - http://www.bathcityfc.com/report15_04.htm - I could swear the header was from near the halfway line? Happy retirement to the Coupe Dog.

Perhaps Matt could be thanked on the pitch during the community day next week? A City legend.

Yeh, perhaps a special annual award 'The Coupies' should be instigated for anyone connected with the club who inspires others.

Thank you Matt. He never gave less than 100% and expected the same from the other 10 on the pitch and would let them know in no uncertain terms if he felt they were not giving it.

Echo that from up the A4. Coupey always gave everything for the cause in his couple of spells with Chippenham Town. He loved the mirror in the dressing room mind!

Lets hope that we get a younger version of dear ol' Coupey then - a mirror image in fact!

That was a great moment! He has many happy memories to savour, and because of him, so do we. Thanks Matt!!

Oh, bugger, that's a shame. I thought he looked younger and, somehow, taller this season than when he was with us previously. Again, I was worried about him coming back but he looked one of more assured players especially since Nicholson left. Welsh, of course.
