Fans for interview on Bath City Internet Radio
Hi all.
Following the news of Lee Howells' departure from the club this week, Bath City Internet Radio would like to gauge the response of fans.
We are looking for three or four supporters who would be willing to come up to the commentary box for a live interview at around 2.45pm before the start of Saturday's game with Concord.
Although we haven't finalised the set of questions yet, we would likely be asking you things like:
You'r thoughts on Lee's time with the club.
Was it the right time to go?
Who you think the next manager should be?
What should the club's goals be for the rest of the season?
We would probably interview you all together in the press box in the form of a group discussion and would probably last around five minutes. We start going through the team line ups as the teams come out of the tunnel so you won't miss any of the action.
If anyone would be interested, PM me and we'll get you on air!
PS If you'd like to get your thoughts across but don't fancy a live interview then we'll have a couple of people walking around the ground or car park before the game with a portable recorder getting people's opinions for a pre recorded package we can play at some point during Saturday. So if that's more your cup of tea, look out for that.

Re: Fans for interview on Bath City Internet Radio
Lee came in as assistant manager to Adie Britton October 2008 when John Relish departed.
After a poor start to season 2008/2009 results improved so the season consolidated to a comfortable mid table finish.
Season 2009/2010: WOW!
Won't forget the semi final play-off then learning in the Chelmsford bar that Woking had won through at Dover to give us the home final.
FA Cup glory at Grimsby, the club was buzzing; such was the enthusiasm I watched and reported back on our previous round opponents Totten.
Season 2010/2011:
Solid performances to give us a comfortable 10th finish in the Premiership.
Season 2011/2012:
Best forgotten.
The controversial "offside" goal in the FA Cup replay home to Dagenham.
Seasons 2012-2016:
False dawn 2013/2014.
Trophy run 2014/2015 with the Memorial Ground Bristol Rovers win being memorable.
Your thoughts on Lee's time with the club. - Early successes and hope. I wonder how much the off field "activities" (turmoil) affected the playing side later on?
Was it the right time to go? - Probably correct. My guess is Lee couldn't see how to change the downward spiral and had enough of being the fall guy for collective management failure on and off the field.
Who you think the next manager should be? - As Adie will always be "The Boss" then it requires someone who is prepared to realise and be able to work with that.
What should the club's goals be for the rest of the season? - Survival in the league and sort out the future off field; currently the club has no "buzz", viable ambitions or achievable plans without a restructuring.

2010/11 was better than that. We were the highest part time team and playing great football.
2011/12 We were rubbish in the Dagenham game. For me the difference between the two seasons was Kaid. He was impossible to replace on our budget.
This was possibly the start of Adie and Archie's obsession with budget. Certainly Adie was shocked at how much the club lost that season.
To be fair they have never wanted to bankrupt the club but at the same time it has been a festering frustration.

Yes 2010/11 was brilliant - we seemed to pick up most of our points after 90mins as I recall!

One of my favourite games that season was bizarrely the 0:0 home draw with Luton.
Seeing the Luton team and a noticeable number of their fans milling around town in the morning (a rarity for us), following by 1,000 of them filling the Bristol end ; Cerys from Catatonia on the pitch with her new fiancé/husband ; and the most entertaining scoreless game I'd seen for years.
Was it the right time for Lee to go ? Yes. Sometimes in football you just need a change of face(s) to refresh things when they're not going right.
The big challenge his successor will face is the question of Adie's role. Unless someone of Adie's picking is brought in I could see that textbook struggle between Manager and Director of Football afflicting us here.

Keep up, Steve - there won't be a problem with Adie as he is leaving very shortly as well!
