Very sad news announced on the club’s website tonight about the passing of City stalwart John Forster following a long illness. Before last season he was an ever present around the club as kitman and he will be badly missed.

Like many exiles he was a familiar face to me at Twerton though never got to know him. The outpouring of affection for him on social media from current and esp past players is a testament to the affection in which he was held. RIP.

John Forster’s family have announced details of his funeral. The service will be held in the Top Chapel at Haycombe at 1.15pm on Friday 23 August. Dress code is black and white.
The Wake will be held at John’s “second home” Twerton Park.

Love Fozzie. Played skittles with him for a few years. Such a nice bloke.
