Concord pub?
Any thoughts on a pub for Concord?
My source tells me that Pinkeye found a pub (and chip shop) last season but it was about to close down!
My research has only found a pub 2 miles away - the Lobster Smack, Haven Road SS8 0NR, but that might be too far for most folk.
I am quite keen to help the Duke of Kent spend his recent ill-gotten gains!

Re: Concord pub?
I guess you're referring to the pub in the main street - charley's bar? - I took one look inside and walked out, but others seemed fairly happy. opposite is the road which eventually leads to the lobster smack - well worth the half mile walk. I then walked along the river path to the ground - it looks very straightforward on the map, but in fact there's no entrance to the ground from that side and you end up walking for another 10 minutes through a caravan park. I'd definitely go to the lobster smack, but get a taxi from there.

and if you do, read 'great expectations' first - research has suggested that the pub is the one where pip stayed the night on his escape down the thames.

The Lobster Smack features on the Dr Feelgood tour which is presented by their former manager. Unfortunately, the next one is the day before we play there. https://www.facebook.com/TheFeelgoods/photos/a.75943603248.70026.55101598248/10152589976058249/?type=1&theater

dr feelgood! (I didn't notice a band called lobster smack, but it would be a good name for one)

Oh, were they playing? There is not one original member of Dr Feelgood in that line-up and Wilko is not happy with them. Indeed, he was supposed to be playing Glastonbury and had to pull out but I expect they were on different days.
