Ian Warren
For this coming season, there will be a "One Hit Wonders" article in the programme for players who've made just a single appearance for us.
One of those I located on our Past Players site was Ian Warren, a goalkeeper who made a single appearance in the 1977/78 season when Kenny Allen was suffering from food poisoning. The opponents were Wealdstone, so I'll be using it for the first game.
Quite unlikely I know, but does anyone have any clues as to where he might have ended up? It says he was on loan at Bridgwater as well at one point.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Ian Warren
And if you read the article in the Wealdstone prog for the trophy tie you'll know he featured in my favourite City game. He was very young and played well, despite conceding twice. In an incredible finish to the game he was well beaten by a dipping volley but it just cleared the bar.
Our next match was the following Saturday's cup tie at Merthyr and I don't believe he would have been registered in time. There was talk of Paul Gover playing in goal, but Kenny recovered in time.
But to answer your question, I've no idea what happened to him!
Presumably Bastock will be guest of honour at the match when he's featured...

Re: Ian Warren
Thanks - I recall you mentioning a 2-2 draw but wasn't sure if it was the same game. I'll dig out the programme in a bit, Wealdstone was one of few away ones which I got my hands on last season. As they're one of the best I wanted to see how good it was. I was very impressed.
I'll try and do some more researching.
