I suppose the success of a kit these days is how many fans buy it. We were told by the previous chair that there were record sales for last season's version, so this Jako thing has a hard act to follow.

I didn't realise about the record sales. Surely that should indicate the importance of a good looking kit. However I would only buy one without a sponsor so it is all academic anyway

i agree with you about the gap
this is why i won't be getting it
why can't teams run designs past suppoters 1st then pick the most popular one
that way they should sale more shirts

I'm a bit confused by Mark Tanners post. Are changes going to made to this kit or is that it?

It looks like an off the peg design which is not likely to be changed much at this stage.

I do think the badge looks over designed. What they should have done is incorporate the 125 Anniversary into the Tilleys bit where there is plenty of space.

But overall I think it looks OK. I would only wear my shirt to a game so it doesn't really matter what it looks like as long as it is the same as what the team is wearing.

Shirt is alright for what it is, my expectations had been raised by the talk of a retro kit though. The sponsors name could have been bigger to fill the white space. I'm sure the badge will grow on me but it feels a little messy to be honest. Not keen on the dots down the shoulder but that's unimportant. The numbers though, jeez. Peel them off pleeeeease. Unreadable unless you're on the pitch. Why haven't we got the Conference numbers like everyone else?! I do like the return to a fully striped reverse though

Ideally it'd be a blank shirt with an old style collar similar to Luton's commemorative shirt when we visited that time.

Its an off the peg sweat shop made template but the club could hardly sell a sponsors evening without the promise of their name being emblazoned on the front so can't be held responsible for the ravages of football commercialisation.

Long live the 'Made in England' Vandanel's from the 90s... but the badge is cool and for the good of the club hope they sell well, though I'll not be buying.

Agreed - also dissapointed with the decision not to go retro. If it's a money-led decision I think it's short-sighted. We would have sold a let more shirts in my opinion. I won't be buying one.

I don't really get the idea of buying a shirt without the sponsors logo on it (which would look even sillier at the moment with that great white gap). If we were sponsored by something like Wonga or other Payday loans then fair enough, but Tilleys Bistro? Shirt sponsorship has been around for over 30 years now.

Oh well, I guess the chances of there being four shirt designs in a row that I really liked went against all footballing science. It's a bit Western League, though.

And anyone else think the new badge looks like the Marmite logo from a distance?

Still, the football's looking alright, innit!

Agree with you Junior - especially about the loan sharks. The names of that type of company would probably be the only exception I would make to wearing the shirt with pride.

I like the shirt overall, but the numbering is bad - should be bigger and bolder somehow. Not enamoured about the badge, but if it means something to others I am not fussed about it.

It's difficult with numbers on stripes, and it has been tricky before, notably the season we won the league (hope that's an omen). But this is worse, they're too small.

I know it didn't go down well with some but I liked last season's home kit. If we were in a league where referees didn't wear black it would have been ideal.

Agreed. I thought we were going for a retro shirt, which would presumably rule those out. The thin black on White were worn in the 60s and would be my preferred choice. They were just after the thin white stripes on black as featured in the Yuffie edition a few years back. Presumably they wouldn't get past the clash with the officials kit, as with last year's Dunfermline cast off which I never took to, especially with the additions to make it legal. I did get to like the purple away strip though and hope it's retained.

If only we had a Dunfermline cast off this year...

Yes I like that. To be honest I don't remember being disappointed with any of the kits Joma have produced for us. The sky blue away ones were really neat and although some weren't kean, I liked the purple.

I loved the Purple and that yellow one I was wearing on Sunday was lush L-U-S-H. I am a bit agin pinstripes after the Southampton and West Brom fiascos. I suppose it is OK for one season but not a fan.

Get those numbers on our shirts enlarged - they looked ridiculous on the pitch last Saturday. The rest of the shirt is OK though.

Interesting to see that Dunfermline have gone down the bespoke kit route again, given the fact they couldn't afford the shirts that we ended up with last season. Maybe they are the Salisbury of Scottish football.

That said, it is a smart kit and one, if money were no object here, I imagine we could have considered.

Horrible! I just don't get this trend for having stripes covering just part of the shirt.
