Match Reporter for the Larkhall Friendly
Hi all,
Some of you may know I run a sports website, www.mtannersports.com , and I'm looking for someone to report on the Larkhall vs Bath City friendly on the Thursday 10th.
So if you fancy writing a short piece or a full blown match report then please get in touch, it'll be good to get the view of someone at the game. The report will have your name on it and will be circulated on social media.
Many thanks I advance!

Bas?
You could ask Bas Mark.
I'll be at the Rovers game if you want a taker for that.

Do we really want a Larkhall fan writing the report?

Re: Match Reporter for the Larkhall Friendly
Here goes:
City opened their pre-season with a defeat at Southern League newcomers Larkhall Athletic.
Larkhall scored twice in the first half and one more in the second. City replied through a trialist that no-one had ever heard of and will never see play again.
The second half contained 24 substitutions, all at separate times, and a section of City fans showed concern that their season was already a write-off after the defeat.

Take a notebook with you to Larkhall Martin - your report should make an interesting read!
On a note of seriousness, as Mark S made an interesting remark within his flippancy. Although a makeshift programme has been available at previous home friendlies, those who watch them are often scratching their heads in trying to put names to players, particularly the triallists. Could the numbers of the entire squad be printed next to their names on the programme please?

If I had my way we would just hand out teamsheets, I'd even fund the photocopying.
I have next to no idea on who will play, the opposition might send some sort of list but that's unlikely.
I'll probably go pitchside with the roving mic for home friendlies so I'm more clued up with substitutions as they are an utter nightmare. Even with teamsheets the numbers don't always correspond.

Perhaps the players could introduce themselves to the crowd with your mic....

Re: Match Reporter for the Larkhall Friendly
My man of the match for sixty or so minutes of truly great keeping was the short in stature but tall in dominance of his area Butler. If not for him the Larks could have scored three or four whilst City could have had two or three. Ross Stern found a way to miss the Larks left hand post when it seemed easier to score and someone else (Artus?) hit the bar with a rasping twenty five yard shot.
The "kids" gave an enthusiastic first half performance full of slick passing football and went ahead courtesy of a basic error by the Larks keeper, getting caught in possession instead of simply "hoofing" the ball clear.
The second half saw a number of changes with the seasoned pros coming on and the game slowing down.
Dave Pratt was his usual busy self and Dan Bowman made some exciting runs up the right. Sekani played in central defence alongside Andy Gallinagh with Dan Ball at left back.

Re: Match Reporter for the Larkhall Friendly
We're back.
Entertaining first half, second half snoozefest.
My original match report was way off. Apart from the substitutions, there were a lot in the second half.

Finally able to get Liam's match report online after a lot of travelling yesterday. Take a look and leave any constructive criticism to me please, either in an pm or email.

Also if I'm not covering a topic you want to read about then please get in touch. Trying to bring myself to write about Aberystwyth Town now, still shell shocked at the 5-0 loss at home, with Aber crashing out of Europe 9-0 in total.
