Chippenham Town
We really need a win from this game and not just for revenge but what team will Jerry go with?
As I have said elsewhere I like a back four of Miles Ball Batten and Rigg but I think Jerry very much likes the Miles Opi combination and so is reluctant to play Miles on the left. So I expect Kelly will start on the left and I think Amankwah will be preferred at CB again. In midfield I would go with a diamond of Richards Compton Davis and Opi with a front two of Watkins and Kavanagh.
I would like to see Pierce given a go but can't see him getting in ahead of either Opi or Compton but possibly could play alongside Kavanagh although this would be a very young and inexperienced front line.
But we really need to start causing opposition centre backs problems as well as the goalies.

Who is Davis?
Would like... Southwood; Amankwaah, Batten, Ball, Welch-Hayes; Edwards, Artus, Smith, Compton; McCootie, Jarvis
Expect... Southwood; Welch-Hayes, Amankwaah, Ball, Kelly; Richards, Artus, Smith; Edwards, Watkins; Kavanagh

On the subject of loanees, Michael Kelly and Rhys Kavanagh both played for Bristol City against Rovers this afternoon in a GFA cup game - they should be warmed up for tomorrow! Opi didn't play for City though.

They will not play - if is, I believe, part od their loan agreement.

I thought Rhys Kavanagh was a Rovers player.

Just testing! I should have said that Kelly and Kavanagh played for Rovers against City. Blame it on the time of year!

I owe the team and management an apology. Didn’t think we were tough enough to get anything.
Let’s take it to Weston on Boxing Day and NYD.

We completely dominated throughout and Jerry's game plan worked to perfection. Smith showed his class with both finishes and we had other decent opportunities that were thwarted. Frankie worked hard and Richards controlled things in midfield while the defence looked solid again.
The win clearly meant a lot to the players and management.

Re: Chippenham Town
We played very well today, the high tempo pressing game worked very well. Chippenham had nothing to offer and looked very poor, it could well have 5 or 6. I thought Jarvis had one of the best games I have seen him play and Richards was back to his best after a couple of games when he seemed a little off the pace.
Tom Smith is a great little player and when he on his game, like he was today, he is outstanding. A very good team performance, well done to all.
A good and not totally expected start to Christmas!

Re: Chippenham Town
Revenge is very sweet! We made Chipp look as poor as we were in the first match at Twerton and they were chasing shadows for much of the game. Some excellent counter attacks in the second half could have easily doubled our score but the final delivery was lacking. To be honest the penalty award looked a shocking decision but some of the home players deserve no sympathy after their antics following Smith's foul in the first half. And welcome back Jack Batten - you showed what we've been missing - and it was good to see the return of Ryan Case.

Great win. Great support. Great atmosphere in both the ground and the Old Road Tavern (Great beer). City support was top notch today. GWR even ran a train back home via Melksham, shame they cancelled the outbound train to Chippenham.
Happy Daze. Looking forward to Boxing Day. Don't mess it up City!

Great travelling support today matched by a equally impressive result. How many Romans do you think were at Hardenhuish Pk today?

The attendance figure was given as 1502.
City must have taken c.500 so did the "Chippenham Bob" have a special promotion / discount day?
