Sounds like Stillmanjunior could be the person to ask for a Romans feature for the Stones programme on January 10... Views on your current season, past history between the clubs, and current plans to overcome financial adversity. We know all about that! I'll be among the 150 or so travelling down on saturday so anybody interested can reply on here. Thanks!

Re: it's Wealdstone away!
Powell would definitely be more suitable as I believe he watched the Stones in their days at Lower Mead!
There was a great article in the superb Wealdstone programme about our past meetings.

Then you sound like the man, Comrade Powell:) And thanks for the compliments about the past meetings in our programme cos it was me wot wrote it. If you'd like to contribute please text me on 07946 520320 (can't give out an email address as this forum won't accept it from newbies like me) and we can fix something up. Thanks! Tim

I used to support The Stones at Lower Mead in the late 1950's. Remember Charlie Townsend & Hugh Lindsay (think I got their names right, it was a long time ago)

Got 'em dead right Dave. Hughie comes along to a lot of our games now but I'm not sure what happened to charlie. We had aseven-page special in our prog on hughie last year and - can give you a link if you'd like.

Hopefully he'll be at ours on Saturday - unless he's busy trying to get his single to Christmas number one, that is...

I assume I am missing something here but has this guy become 'famous' for being drunk, swearing and trying to start a fight?

Re: it's Wealdstone away!
We love him! At first he seems just about the worst possible 'ambassador' for the club - a p*****d, fag-smoking, potty-mouthed idiot - but his size, appearance and willingness to have a go is so funny it seems to have endeared him to millions. And of course, no publicity is bad publicity. He should be coming on saturday so if your club has any sense they'll get that around on social media

Re: it's Wealdstone away!
I believe it has been advertised.
It is a weird thing. I personally don't get the fascination, I've been to 900-odd non-league games and you come across people similar to this on a regular basis, so not sure why this has suddenly become a real craze!
And as I said similarly before, if this bloke can get all this publicity, we need to get someone to film the Yorks at games...

If that is is so, it'll be a 'bumper' crowd for us compared to recent home games.
