Phew - I had the same thought as you Rudi, so I'm glad I was not alone with such a low score. Suffice to say it was the most enjoyable WC tournament that I can remember watching. Perhaps this was because of who I was with!!

I put it in 2nd place after the 1970 tournament in Mexico, which had a higher proportion of great matches. However, I didn't win as much then as in this WC!  Laughing

It is certainly the most I've ever seen of a World Cup. I watched a bit of every single game, 90 minutes in most, only time I didn't is if I fell asleep.

Usually I get bored with the group stage but it was unusually compelling. Occasional dud game but mostly fantastic. Games like South Korea v Algeria became classics as opposed to usual dullness.
