A truly great bowler for England who was our last real pace merchant. Something tells me that Archer won’t make the same impact. That wonderful Headingley match in 81 is probably my favourite cricketing memory (along with Mx v Yorkies in 2016) and to refer to it as Botham’s match forgets the incredible spell Bob put in on that final day.
Also enjoyed his punditry on Sky.

Agree with you except for Archer, genuinely fast and accurate.

One of the greatest final two days cricket, add Ben Stokes to that now.

Fast yes. Willis was not distracted by T20 whereas Archer will be a target for the various franchises around the world. The ECB may well keep him focussed on the next Ashes but in the long term I’m sure he will follow the money.
