Obviously this is the opportunity for them to gain revenge for our great Scotty inspired win in the cup but that 4-3 at TP in '69 still rankles...

14-15 - 3rd Qualifying Rd - played on a Sunday
18-19 - 3rd Qualifying Rd - played on a Sunday

14-15 - 1st Round - away to the side who finished 23rd in League 2 the previous season
18-19 - 1st Round - away to the side who finished 23rd in League 2 the previous season

It's happening again but North Ferriby (or whatever they are called now) are already out!

Great spot!

(now kindly attend to the Barnet forum link on the website - it takes me to Aldershot's!)

I'll keep a low profile having joined in the pitch celebrations last time. I'm sure Fraser was on the halfway line within seconds of full-time. I remember jumping on John Williams and that was it.

They have long memories - you're both on their banned list...

I'm probably banned from running on the pitch at Underhill again. Seeing as they started demolishing it January, I'm sure I'll cope. And they banned me from taking photos just before KO, so there.

I'll be on my best behaviour this time.

With the discussion about this being the 50th season of the Trophy, can’t help feeling a certain irony that we have drawn Barnet as that 4-3 defeat in the first season did rather set the pattern for those that followed!

Hopefully our squad don't pick up any germs in the next fortnight. I remember the excuse given by the club for that second half horror show was that half the team were suffering with flu.

From the Barnet forum...

Back in 1970 we played Bath City away in the 1st round of the Trophy. At half time we were 3-0 down. We went on to win 4-3 with a fabulous hat trick from Colin Powell and the other goal from Les Eason. That second half was the best 45 minutes of watching Barnet ever!!

And yes, Colin, s/he is correct and I'm wrong - the match was played on 10.1.70

Someone else on their forum is suggesting we'll agree to go to penalties if it's a draw at 90 minutes. I'll be very surprised if we do...

Barnet have reduced prices for their FA Cup game v Stockport next Sunday to 10 pound from league price of 20. Would be good move to do same for our game.
