Oh well . . . . . every cloud has a silver lining . . . . . .that has saved us a long trip to Gateshead.

Toothless second half. No goals again. Very disappointing. Beaten by a savvy team. Guess we have to allow the new gaffer to build it.

Hope to see a win on Saturday but we have lost momentum

Seems as if the problem was up front - should have brought Lucas and Mohamed on earlier.

Didn't miss out on a great draw but was £12,500 up for grabs nonetheless -

disappointed because in the first game we were better than Chelmsford and it was a golden opportunity. but they took their chances and we didn't

Since Morgan left Nick has been a shadow of his former self too. He seems a bit lost. We now have no leader up front. I am not convinced Kaid is the man to change that. Maybe he and Nick could forge a partnership but I am clutching at straws.

Better team in first half but they shaded the second. Goal was a deflection which Luke originally had covered. Kaid blasted a good chance high wide and handsome with a minute to go. Cold and windy, at least the coach is warm and cosy.

That was a costly penalty miss

It was very windy but there were some very encouraging signs. Jerry Gill has clearly made a big change to the playing style. As on Saturday, a lot of excellent passing, rather than hoofing the ball hopefully forward. Yes, we do need a good striker, but the defenders are doing well and the football is much more entertaining, as it was for the 0-0 draw on Saturday.

It's a bit harsh to attribute City's cup exit solely to the penalty miss on Saturday. Chelmsford might well have played more adventurously had the penalty gone in and gone on to win the game. Penalties seem to be missed more frequently at all levels of football . Perhaps in future in City's case penalties should always be taken by one of the current loan players as they seem to have a better success rate.

Kaid was good at penalties.  Remember Woking play-off final, it was early in the second half, a lot of pressure on that penalty for Kaid but slotted it home giving the keeper little chance despite diving the correct way. City won 1-0. cheers

Very disappointing game. What with the strong gusts and narrow pitch, good football was at a premium and I don't think I've ever witnessed such a poor atmosphere for a cup game under lights. I'm sure our management will be addressing the goal scoring problem, but let's remember that we're in the middle of a tough run - St Albans, Chelmsford, Braintree and Dartford occupy 4 of the top 5 places in the table. Nevertheless, I hope we can improve on our dreadful recent record at Melbourne when we return there after Christmas.
Best wishes to their player who went off with what looked a bad injury. Hopefully we wouldn't post the ridiculous speculation on here about one of our players that their Peter Foster infested forum has produced!

I still maintain no one should miss from the penalty spot. If i can put it right in the corner every time then a paid player should too! So yes, it was very costly!
