City v. Stortford Empty City v. Stortford

Post by Luton Roman Fri Jan 13, 2017 3:19 pm

Early build up with Phil Walsh returning to Twerton as captain for the visitors fresh from scoring in the 3-0 win at Margate. He is one of several new signings including forwards from level or 2 below clubs. Would be good time to start showing we can perform against the lower teams as well as raise our game v. the higher ones.

Yes ideal opportunity for our strikers to show they do know where the goal is.

I don't want to sound like dear Mike York, but Bish have won 2 of their last 3 away matches.

They'd used 51 players before signing Wlashy. About 6 more since then. Could be they've now found the right combination. That much overused phrase ' there are no easy games in this league' probably correct.
I'm coming up to TP for this one.

Well we made very hard work of that at times. Stortford were very poor indeed and yet we didn't want to play football.

Nick McCootie is rapidly becoming my favourite player showing the desire others are lacking. We are carrying a couple of players. But it is pleasing to score from two corners. And the defence looks solid with Axel.

Hopefully we can kick on from here.

Certainly made hard work of it, Stortford were bad and we were little better.
Must have been difficult to pick a MOM today as there was so little quality on show.
Thought Morgan was poor today and his performances seem to be dipping week on week. Nick continues to work hard and deserved to be awarded the goal for his efforts.
In the end it was a welcome 3 points as I was concerned we might be playing Stortford at the wrong time with all their new signings a good win last week.

I thought we were poor for the opening 20 minutes or so and a better side than Stortford may have punished us for that. However, after that we took control and made them look like a side destined for a lower division next season. We got the goals at good times and probably should have had 2 or 3 more but were guilty of trying to walk it into the net on a few occasions. Then the Lemonheigh-Evans' miss which you can smile at when you're already 2-0 up ...

I thought Nick was motm today and it's good to see his efforts are being rewarded with goals.
