The most famous occurrence like that was when the English ref Clive Thomas disallowed a Brazil goal in the 78 World Cup. The Argentine locals loved it!

And during the 78/79 season we were denied a goal in similar circumstances. We were drawing 0-0 at Wealdstone - right at the end one of our players rounded the keeper and slotted home only to see that the ref had blown his whistle on his final touch. I remember most of our fans and players pretty much accepting it - there were certainly no scenes similar to yesterday's...

Well at least they and St.Albans both featured in the 1st Round and got TV coverage, especially Saints today giving Carlisle a gd test in a goal fest. And of course we have beaten both this season.

By coincidence I was discussing this with Kelston Koppite on the train earlier. If my memory serves me right the player concerned was Peter Rogers.
