I am listening to the internet commentary. My nerves are in tatters and I don't have any nails left to bite.

Thank God it is over and we have won. bounce bounce

A battling Cup result with 10 men setting up. Gary must have been delighted. Heroic win.

sat here in NZ listening to the commentary - thanks again to all those who make it happen. very tense though but we deserved a bit of luck - or was it? you have to make the chances to get a deflection in the first place.

Heroic from City in extra time, bodies on the line getting the ball clear. Looked like an own goal but frankly who cares!

So, after the own goal was Riggy (I think) going over to their defender to:

a) commiserate, or
b) laugh in his face

Well done to all. I thought we would be better than Saturday but felt that Oxford may just have the measure of us so great result.
Why did Hunter get sent off? 2 Yellows, straight red?

Straight red according to the website. Reacted to getting fouled and their player went down holding his face. will be interesting to hear more about this and whether it can/should be appealed

No chance. Hunter got fouled on the edge of the box, got up and head butted the Oxford player.

Near carbon copy of Zidane on Matterazzi. Nailed on red card, no complaints. I actually thought the referee was pretty good throughout.

Potters Bar average 100 or so, though over 200 at their replay. Surely we can aim to get a 100 fans there?

Damn. Was wondering if/when this might happen after reading about his disciplinary issues.

Suppose it could give Josh Hutchinson a starting chance if Watkins remains injured...

Actually, Shaq's disciplinary issues in the past have been more to do with not turning up to training and being disrespectful to the coaching staff. This was an entirely different thing.

Oxford's nippy little number three (you may remember the fella who looked a little bit like Justin Edinburgh who took the throw ins on Saturday), and been putting in niggling little kicks here and there throughout the game and falling over far too easily. After bringing Shaq down for a free kick, he subtly lashed out in such a way that the officials didn't see, and Hunter got the red mist.

Seriously, it was like someone had flicked a switch. Usually when a player marches forward like that you just expect a bit of handbags and head movements like rutting stags. But no, he just stepped in and nutted the bloke. It would actually have been impressive had it not been so detrimental to the team.

But it didn't end there. Once the Oxford player was down, Hunter then fixed up to take on any of the onrushing home player who came storming in, and something of a fracas developed - all of this while the number three was both holding his face and laughing his lungs out on the floor.

The kid's obviously got passion, and up to that point he'd arguably been our best player. But like my old mucker at Rovers told me: "If you can tame him you've got yourself one heck of a player. But it's a big risk for you". Clearly Owers has got to work some of his famous man management magic on him.

I won't condone his actions, but some of the home team's cheaty antics left a fair bit to be desired, too, and in the end they got what was coming to them. A shame really, because it was a really friendly and welcoming club off the pitch.

Grant was involved in the incident with McCootie on Saturday as well. I think even Saturday's ref would have sent off Hunter.

I still recall the left-back being part of Farnborough's side when we stuffed them twice. When we were interviewing Adie Britton after the game, he walked past in the skinniest jeans I've ever seen in my life. Grant that is, not Adie. That would have been a scary sight.

Agree with you, Hacksaw. Oxford impressed me in the first two games - streetwise yes, but also played some very good football. Last night they were ordinary and their nasty side came to the fore after the Hunter incident. The ref kept things under control but at least three home players should have been carded for deliberately trying to provoke Hunter to react further. So I think I know what Rigg's intentions were!

Hunter deserved to go. It was a proper pub headbutt, not the sort of head-to-head handbags you normally get on the pitch. We reckon Duncan Ferguson was the last to do one like this. Obviously, the other lad was going to go down but, to be fair, he did look hurt at first even if he did make the most of it. Hunter deserves much longer than 3 games ban for that and may get up to 8. To be honest, I may be more angry as his sending off ended up with me getting an hour's less kip by the time I got home.

Not sure how this sending off resulted in the loss of an hour's kip.
Unless it was so violent an incident that it left you traumatised to some extent!
