Well that wss depressing listening. Poor old Mark Stillman who is one of the most positive on here couldn't find anything good to say. Sounded like an abject performance.

Our only hope is that there are three worse sides than us in this division.

I agree another woeful showing...not sure whether it is just a loss of confidence or tha manager losing the dressing room....something is not right and if it isn't turned around quickly we are going down.

You don't mind getting beaten by a better side but none of the players are playing to their ability. We are going to give bad sides a chance as well.

I wonder how much longer this can continue - we have now won 2 league games out of 17, picked up just 11 points out of a possible 51 and scored 12 goals in the process. If you add in the F A Cup and Trophy we have won 3 of 21, and one of those was against Bodmin.

Thanks to Q for trying not to depress listeners with how badly we played, but unfortunately he didn't succeed!

I am sure Lee Howells will tell us that Dartford have more resources than us, that we have a good squad of players and that "it is what it is" - I would rather he just said he was leaving, but I gave up hope of that a long time ago.

Am currently on the train home with two other thoroughly depressed stripes. I saw abject used above to describe today, and that is the best word for it. Truly awful.

There's no fight left in the players, something needs to change or we are playing Southern League next season, as I can't see where we are going to get a draw from, nevermind a win.

The club is, in all ways, failing...so sad. I am amazed how stoic the fans are, still attending games.

It is so depressing for me that I don't even listen to commentary any more.

It would be good to hear from the Board about this current state of affairs.

I was under the impression that they need the community bid to go through so that the money they've put into the club can be paid back to them. This continuous run of games cannot be helping the people trying to make the bid succeed sell the club to the community so how, given this never ending series of losses in game after game can the Board justify not making changes now to help bring about an improvement in the club's fortunes?

The coach is so quiet, maybe not helped by the fact we haven't had a coffee stop yet!

I can't see us beating anyone the way we're going, the shouts of hallelujah when we scored summed it up.

Oh good, we've reached Reading services, time for some caffeine.

I listen while browsing other footbal websites. Chelsea scoring in the 98th minute with an offside goal must have felt worse for Everton fans.

Not much more to add about the game, City showed in the first fifteen minutes that the game could be even, but, once they had presented Dartford with the ball for their first goal, there was barely a whimper from City. I was quite impressed with a few flashes of quality from Eliot Richards, but it may take him a little while to get used to be surrounded by Conference South players rather than Football League players. City's disorganisation was typified by a corner kick which was played deep towards the far post while all the City players went to the near post, leaving no one anywhere near where the ball landed. Don't they signal each other to suggest where the kick will be aimed?

On the plus side, it was my first visit to Princes Park, and I was quite impressed with it, although they do need to sort out a way of early arrivals being able to get to the bar before the turnstiles are open. If you were designing a Conference South ground from scratch, which I assume they were, that is pretty much how you would do it, terraces on three sides, seats all along the fourth side, roof over the terraces that still allowed the ground to have an airy feel, and I particularly appreciated the choice of football quotes on the walls of the clubhouse.

Well a hammering has been on the cards for some weeks now and maybe this result will finally wake some up at the club. As Twerton Parker posted, it's time for some public acknowledgement by the board of the gravity of the situation. A few of the directors were there today and they can't have been any more impressed than the loyal 40 or so City fans who gave the team yet another chance. (Note that Graham White missed his first City trip in many years - if he is voting with his feet, things have got really bad.)

While the 4th goal was yet another example of shoddy defending, I was more incensed by Dartford's 3rd. Having shown us just seconds before how to defend with resilience, they went up the other end and shook off our half hearted tackles to score with aplomb.

Frankly we were dreadful all over the pitch, with Bowman just about the only one matching Dartford's passion. While I hate the policy, surely it's time to ditch this midfield trio and go cap in hand to Cheltenham for some quick fix loans.

At least the pub was good, although there seems to be a Kentish conspiracy against us - as at Ebbsfleet, the advertised food did not exist...Evil or Very Mad

It has to be said that the defence consisted of four youngsters plus andy g. It is difficult to know how to do anything with it. The obvious thing would be to recall Coupe. I think this is what Bathman is hinting at on the other thread.
The problem is that he will exposed by pace. You therefore need people around to protect him from that.
It should not be an insurmountable problem.
The midfield is an entirely different problem. They aren't robust enough defensively or creative enough in attack. How has it ended up like this? A one dimensional midfield?

Is Coupe still at the club? No mention of him in the last two line ups.

My mood wasn't helped by the truly abysmal commentary position we were given. Smashing ground, lovely staff, horrendous vantage point for radio, hence my useless reporting for the third goal.

Not sure about the point made about the youth of the defence- three of Dartford's back four were 19- and 20-year-olds, as were another four members of their squad of sixteen.
